[NL] Net binnengelopen: momenteel houdt de politie zo'n 45 mensen vast aan de Amerikaanse ambassade. De politie neemt foto's van deze actievoerders.

[EN] We just heard that aprox. 45 people are being held and photographed by the police in the neighbourhood of the US embassy.

[NL] De actie loopt op z'n einde. Mensen gaan naar huis, de politie ruimt op. Volgens de laatste berichten werden twee mensen opgepakt. Het is evenwel nog onduidelijk wie en waarom.

[EN] The action is coming to end. People are leaving, police are cleaning up. According to the last info, two people got arrested, but it remains unclear who and why.

[NL] Volgens een spreker op het podium voor de ambassade staan er zo'n 3500 mensen te betogen. Naar verluidt is er veel te weinig plaats voorzien voor de betogers, waardoor de situatie bij momenten gevaarlijk wordt. Op dit moment spreken mensen van de vredes- en mileubeweging de actievoerders toe.

[EN] According to a speaker there are about 3500 people protesting in front of the US embassy. There's very limited space for people to stand, causing the situation to become dangerous from time to time. At this time, speakers of the peace and third world movement are giving speeches.

[NL] Mensen staan opeengepakt voor de Amerikaanse ambassade. "Het lijkt wel of je vlak voor het podium van rock Werchter staat", vertelt een Indymedia-medewerker. Vanop het dak van de ambassade staan enkele veiligheidsagenten de betogers uit te dagen (foto's nemen, ...).

[EN] Lots and lots of people are standing in front of the US embassy. "It's like standing in front of a stage at some huge rock festival", says an Indymedia volunteer. From the rooftop of the embassy, security officers are provoking protestors (taking pictures, ...).

[NL] Een kwartier voor het begin van de actie staat er al een duizendtal mensen voor de ambassade. De actievoerders geven, net als gisteren, blijk van heel wat creativiteit: mensen dragen kleurrijke borden, sommigen zijn verkleed. Opnieuw valt de grote verscheidenheid aan mensen en bewegingen op. De politie is in grote getalen aanwezig. Slechts een smalle strook aan de overkant van de ambassade is vrij voor de betogers.

[EN] Fifteen minutes before the start of the demo, there are about one thousand people standing in front of the US embassy in Brussels. Like yesterday, activists show great creativity: people are carrying colorful signs, some are dressed up. Again there's a great diversity of people and movements that are present. The police are present in great numbers. There's but a narrow strip across the embassy that's free to protestors.
