Ugandan DJ Viscious charmes Schelle in Belgium

Ugandan DJ Viscious charmes Schelle in Belgium

In 2007, VECO in Belgium launched 'Change the DJ'. Youth associations which participated to the action weekend in January could win a top-dj to perform at their party. This year 'Change the DJ' was completed with a dj-contest. During the action weekend, an Ugandan DJ Viscious came along to Belgium to promote 'Change the DJ' and to select a Belgian DJ. The choice was on DJ Tactile to build parties in Uganda. With 'Change the DJ' VECO Vredeseilanden (wich means Peace Islands) wants to build a bridge between Belgium and Uganda, between the Ugandan capital Kampala and the countryside, but especially between celebrating people in both countries.

We were in Schelle (nice town near Antwerp), to see how that works. We meet there the plenary Change the DJ - crew. It had been not at all planned that Robert Lusebeya aka DJ Viscious would be still in Belgium in this period. Beginning May he had been invited to the Mano Mundo festival in Boom (means Tree, another nice town in the district of Antwerp). But love kept him in our country. It was not the love for our famous Belgian beer, chocolate or fried potatoes, but for a beautiful and nice girl with the fine name Fien.

And therefore the people of Schelle got into action to organise a benefit for DJ Viscious benefiet! The local youth movement and numerous volunteers were mobilised, the sports hall of the local primary school Saint Lutgardis was clearred and was arranged into a steaming hot partyroom. The result was a night full contagious sultry rhythms, fairtrade cocktails and romance.

To make this readable to the people in Uganda, who would like to know how their DJ Viscious is doing in Belgium, I translate this in English. Well, I don't know Lugandan, so it's a pitty. But for you, you can read how good DJ Viscious behaves in our country. Nice greetings to all of you!!! Hope to see you once.
