White band action pledge 17-19th October

White band action pledge 17-19th October

Between 17-19th October every year millions of people across the world Stand Up against poverty. Literally. Join them and break a world record.

But even today you can still join the action!

Sydney, Australia.

Make your message even stronger by adding your own personal pledge, so world leaders see we are real people with real determination to hold them to their promises.

To give you some ideas, you could pledge to keep buying fair trade products, or to make sure your kids get a good education. You could describe what you're doing to help poor people living in your community, the grassroots activism you're involved in or the regular donations you're making to organisations who are working to end poverty.

If you are a bit stuck for words take a look at what others have pledged. Making a personal pledge to help end poverty is very simple and straight-forward. You can:
1. upload a photo or drawing of yourself with your name and pledge written in a creative and exciting way, or
2. type your pledge using the space to the right
3. add a video message and join the chorus of will.i.am's music video

Your pledges will show governments and leaders what ordinary people are doing every day in the fight against poverty and help hold them to account for their actions and promises.

By pledging online during October 17-19 you are joining millions of like-minded people who are taking part in Stand Up and Take Action. Your words will combine with their activities and show world leaders that ordinary people across the world want to end poverty and inequality!

I have taken to the streets with people from throughout India to call for more spending on health and education, In My Name I want the Indian government to keep their promises and offer our people a life of dignity and rights.
Lysa - India

I pledge to volunteer my time as an artist and help let people understand what needs to be done in order for us to help our brothers and sisters in other countries.

I pledge to volunteer my time as a graphic designer to help organisations that are working to end poverty. I can't put food into people's mouths myself, but I want to do what I can to help out.
