Israel and Palestine probably take up more of the airtime on the news than any other place on earth these days. Most of that news are accounts of the conflict or news items with negative connotations. The scope of the project is to improve the lives of people living under the hovering conflict that is splitting the country apart and spread the positive news.
The students, called KaosPilots in line with the name of their education, are from various European countries and have distinctive backgrounds. They intend to unite women and their children at a community centre, such as the village’s oldest tree and facilitate their participation in the society in collaboration with Windows for Peace, an organization that works on both sides of the wall.
The team, consisting of the students and their team manager, Pieter Spinder, leave on the morning of 27th of March and stay until 18th of June this year.
About the KaosPilots School
The KaosPilots Netherlands is an international school of new business design and social innovation, based in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It was founded in 2007 and offers a three-year long education in alternative business, creative project design and social entrepreneurship with a focus on the improvement of the society and environment.
The KaosPilots distinguishes itself from other business schools by the way the students are in control. The design of the agenda is largely in the hands of the students, which are organized in ‘teams’ of 10-25 students from 21-31 years old that work in the group for the whole three years. The emphasis on action learning and active participation leads to the maximum creation of experiences and KaosPilots leave the school, ready to face the real world.
