Action in support of the Lappersfort: no compromise!

Action in support of the Lappersfort: no compromise!

Monday 15th june: fabricom wanted to meet the occupiers of the forest, but didn't show up. The occupiers and other supporters say no compromise!

The cowards never came!

10 days ago, Fabricom did a ridiculous attempt of "negociation", or actually threat to the occupiers of the forest (which is on "their" property) so that they would leave voluntarily, and therefore they could chose which trees would be replanted somewhere else... (they are forced to replant before slaughtering the forest)

one person attending this meeting (representing the groene gordel) proposed a land swap so that fabricom built their hangars and offices on an already empty industrial piece of land, leaving the forest untouched. in response to that, fabricom suggested to have a new meeting ten days later (i.e. last monday 15th).

some of the occupiers and friends of the forest went to stand on the street next to the meeting point to tell fabricom loud and clear that they will be no compromise at all. we're not leaving this forest until we are sure that it's going to be protected.
the idea was also to hand them in a few open letters, with some of our arguments and proposals such as giving away the forest, or selling it for 1 euro.

but these cowards... they never showed up!! despite THEY had proposed the meeting, they decided not to come cos "they didn"t want any public attention"... of course they couldn't be bothered to tell us that they were cancelling the meeting, although they did tell the cops.

are they scared of making promises in front of the cameras? they were probably expecting lots of media to be there, and weren't ready to promise anything like a land swap or any other option to preserve the forest. yeah, they would probably lose their face promising such things and then ordering a violent eviction as last one 7 years ago...

anyway, a little action took place on the streets, and the letters will be sent to fabricom.

in my -very- personal opinion, i'm glad they didn't come, i don't have the feeling there's anything i could agree with them. a land swap would mean that they don't build their shit on the forest, good! but it means that they build it somewhere else; mopre hangars, more offices, more parking lots... more cars and industries... i'd rather farbiscum simply disappeared forever!
